History

Qubik began life in 1981 in a double garage on State Highway 3 Te Awamutu as Te Awamutu Milking Machine Company (TMC). As there was only one other milking machine company in Te Awamutu at the time, it didn't take TMC long to find its feet and make an impact.

The focus for TMC from the beginning was to provide farmers a quality and reliable service, with expert knowledge and skills. Along the way this became known as the TMC Way, to provide farmers with absolute confidence in their milking operations 24/7.

As the company's reputation grew, so did the client base and the need for a wider range of services, this led to the addition of an on-farm refrigeration division. Staffing numbers grew from three employees up to 22 over a period of seven years. Qubik now offers the complete package to farmers; Milking Systems, Effluent Management, Refrigeration and Water Reticulation.

As a result of the company's growth, Qubik began being sought after to install milking machines and refrigeration equipment internationally, in Pakistan, Malaysia, USA, Canada and more recently Venezuela and Australia.

In 2007 two other branches were amalgamated into the company which led to Qubik branches in Otorohanga, Putaruru and Te Awamutu. The decision was made by the new shareholders to rebrand the company in conjunction with the amalgamation. Through this process the company Qubik TMC Ltd was formed.

Qubik is a name the team made up. They chose it because it was important to have a name that was unique, easy to say, and ownable, and Qubik did that. The change to Qubik, with the orange logo in the shape of a milkdrop has brought the company into the 21st century.

Qubik has the ability to pre-empt customers' requirements. Farmers' needs have changed over time and now more streamlined systems are now a high priority. Farmers want to be able to access information about their herds easily and so Qubik have had to become more electronically knowledgeable to continue to be the ones that farmers can rely on.
